"A Woman's Voice PG 1971"
My first set of poems is titled I Spoke To A Priest Last Night. These poems represent the beginning of my healing process and where I found my voice for the first time in decades. More to come. I hope that my poetry encourages you to tell your secrets that are keeping you sick. Recovery from any trauma is one step at a time and one breath at a time. Let God be your guide. I believe God has kept me here on earth to spread the word that you and I are worthy of peace, love and happiness, even though we have walked through many valleys.
I dedicate these poems to my niece Alexandra. The strongest woman I know. I could not have written these poems without the encouragement of my family, friends, coworkers and my wonderful husband Edward. Thank you God for keeping me in the palm of your hand.
Courage Is My Name Now
Courage is my name now. My other name is Pamela Greene. I created A Woman’s Voice PG 1971, to help my healing process from past trauma and abuse. I hope that anyone who reads my poems finds some comfort that they are not alone on their journey. I developed this talent as an outlet after my first marriage ended. The poetry in my mind and heart had to be written. I am truly living again, one step at a time, one breath at a time. I have even remarried and have found joy everyday. I focus on the positive, which I did not for many years. One of my poems that I quote often when my negative thinking starts “you can visit, but can not stay.” Before my metamorphosis to who I have become, I had years of negativity where I allowed someone to pull me under their tide of rage. This poetry is my art. I use no names to protect people I love. It is a way to tell my secrets as I view them in a safe environment.
